We’ve all been there: the inbox is overflowing, half the team is out sick, anything that can go wrong has gone wrong, and then an employee asks for Official Time to prepare an EEO complaint. It’s tempting to say, "Not today—get back to work," but in the federal space, that "no" can carry a lot of weight.

Robert Half research indicates that fully on-site roles are continuing to trend downward as hybrid options rise. Overall, employers are more likely to offer hybrid work arrangements than remote work options to employees at all levels.

As Generation Z (born 1997-2012) emerges as the fastest-growing segment of the workforce—expected to make up 30% of the U.S. workforce within the next five years (Source: NACE, aligned with U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data)—it’s crucial for HR and business leaders to understand their distinct traits and expectations. This knowledge isn’t just valuable; it’s a necessity for driving engagement, improving retention, and ensuring long-term organizational success.
